Eva wins Best Special Effects on Fantasporto Festival

Fantasporto is Portugal’s biggest film festival with a dedicated programme to the newest films in three competitions, with retrospectives and tributes

On March 4 it took place 32nd Fantasporto Festival and the feature film directed by Kike Maíllo, Eva, in which Entropy Studio took part in, developing VFX, won the Best Special Effects Award on this edition of Fantasporto.

Fantasporto is a regular visit of the Cannes Film Markets with a stand in the premises, enlarging thus the international influence of the event, as it can clearly be seen in the use of the name and logo of Fantasporto in the official poster and site of the selected films. The coverage by the media is unprecedented in Portugal with numerous international references. In 2011, the festival had 63 newspapers, 44 TV channels, 23 radio stations and 88 sites covering the event. 

The festival has screened first hand the first films of the greatest film creators of all times, one of the top merits of the event. David Cronenberg, André Tarkovsky, Brian de Palma, John Carpenter, David Lynch, Bigas Luna, Ridley Scott among others. Lars von Trier showed their first films in the first 5 years of Fantasporto and also Pedro Almodóvar, Peter Jackson, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Quentin Tarantino, Tim Robbins, Guillermo del Toro, and much more screened their first films in Fantasporto, making it a special place for new talents.
